The visit to Louvre museum is a must when you are in Paris. And the best way is to book ahead to avoid the lines and get direct entry. We had taken a 3 hr guided tour with individual headsets and got a detailed explanation of the artefacts. After the tour ended we were free to explore the museum further if we wanted to. The main highlights were Mona Lisa, Venus de Mello and other pieces of art by Da Vinci. Washrooms, lockers to store your stuff and cafes are available inside the museum.

Probably the best museum in the whole world. Louvre does not need a review to tell how good is this place. They talk about fitness in hiking, you need good fitness to cover the whole museum in a day. A lot lot walking. Reserve min of 1/2 day for Louvre.

We didn't actually go into the Museum. We walked around it's incredible buildings, but we only had 5 days, and not enough time to do it justice with everything else we have planned. The buildings are iconic but without a skip the line tour and at least half a day it didn't seem a good idea. The queues were huge and the concept of viewing the small Mona Lisa from afar after lining up for hours wasn't very inviting. Maybe another time.
